Donna pushed open the front door and entered the Hanson's house.
"Guys?" she called.
"Up here Donna!" she heard someone call from upstairs.
Donna climbed the stairs to the second floor and walked down the hall to the guys bedroom. The door was closed, and Donna could hear laughter coming from the other side. So she pushed open the door and entered the room. Isaac, Jess, and Taylor were laughing hysterically at Zac, who was sitting on the floor, his feet behind his head.
"Guys," he said, his voice muffled and barely audible. "I could use some help here."
Ike, Tay, and Jess, who had paused to hear what Zac had to say, looked at each other and began laughing again. Donna couldn't help but giggle at Zac.
"Donna," he said from his position on the floor. "Could you help me get un-stuck?"
"How did you get that way in the first place?" she asked, a questioning look on her face.
"It's all Tays fault," Zac said.
Taylor, who had stopped laughing, shook his head.
"You didn't have to do it Zac," he said snickering. He stood up and sat down on his bed. He motioned for Donna to come sit next to him. Donna walked across the room and sat down next to Taylor.
"What happened?" she asked, looking at Zac, who was trying desperately to get himself unstuck.
"We were playing Truth or Dare, and I dared him to put his feet behind his head. Well, he did it, but then he couldn't get them back down."
"Okay..." Donna said with a smile.
Zac finally got out of the position, and glared at Taylor.
"You're toast man!" he yelled, running towards Taylor. Zac jumped on Tay, and began wrestling with him.
"Yo Zac get off!" Taylor yelled. "Donna?"
Donna reached over and tickled Zac in his sides. Zac let go of Taylor and fell off the bed, laughing. Isaac and Jess laughed as Taylor sat back up.
"Thanks Donna," he said.
"No problem," she said.
"Not fair!" Zac said. "I'll get you yet."
"Yeah right," Taylor said. "I'm sooo scared."
"Guys what do you want to do?" Jess asked from her position on the floor. Isaac shrugged.
"I don't know. How we watch a movie downstairs?" he said. Donna and Taylor nodded.
"Sounds good," they said in unison.
"Oh no," Isaac groaned. "Now they're talking in unison."
"Shut up Ike," Taylor mumbled. Donna smiled.
"Are we going or not?" Zac asked.
"Yeah, come on guys," Jess said standing up. Zac ran to the door.
"I will beat you all 'cause I am.....SUPER-ZAC!!" He ran out the door. Isaac motioned for everyone to be quiet. They heard Zac begin to run down the stairs, a thud, and then Zac yell.
"I knew it," Isaac said as he walked towards the door. "I KNEW he would fall."
Donna laughed as she, Taylor, Jess and Isaac walked down the stairs. Zac was sitting at the foot of the stairs.
"I did NOT just fall down the stairs," he said with a grin.
"Sure Zac," Taylor said rolling his eyes. "We all believe you." Zac jumped up and raced towards the basement door.
"SUPER-ZAC to the rescue!!" he yelled as he opened the door and ran down the stairs.
"Don't fall again Super-Zac!" Donna called.
The four others walked down the stairs. Zac was laying on his stomach, right in front of the television set. Donna walked over to the couch and sat down. Taylor sat beside her. Jess and Ike grabbed the loveseat. Zac rolled over and looked at the two couples.
"I want a girlfriend," he complained. "It's not fair you all got 'em."
"Sucks to be you little bro," Isaac said. "What movie guys?" he asked as he stood up and walked over to the cabinet.
"A comedy," Donna said immediately.
"Yeah," Taylor said in agreement.
"Ummmm....How about Tommy Boy?" Ike asked pulling out the cassette tape.
"Sounds good," Jess said. "Zac?"
"Well..." Zac began. "It's not my favorite movie, and I..."
"Zac you love Tommy Boy!" Taylor said.
"Well, yeah I guess I do," Zac said thoughtfully. "Guess I went into temporary brainlock."
"Yeah," Taylor said. "You do it all the time."
"Watch it bud," Zac said, glaring at Taylor. Donna shook her head and smiled.
"Just put in the movie Ike," Tay said.
Isaac walked over to the VCR and popped the tape in. He switched the lights off. A few minutes later, the movie began. Donna, although still upset about her parents decision to split up, laughed along with the rest of the group. Once the movie was over, Isaac reached over and turned the lights on. Donna rubbed her eyes, and looked around the room.
"Ummm....where's Zac?" she asked when she didn't see him.
Suddenly, Zac ran through the door leading to the laundry room, with socks on his hands, feet, head, and tied around his arms and legs.
"Evil will never come to this room, now that I am here!" he yelled. "For I, am Sock-Man!!" Zac ran over to the couch that Donna and Taylor were sharing, and began jumping up and down.
"Zac," Isaac said. "I don't think we need Sock-Man's help right now." He looked around the room. "Nope. Nothing evil in here." Zac paused in his jumping to observe the room. "Yep," he said. "Everything looks good in here....But I better check upstairs just to be sure."
He ran towards the stairs, but stopped when he saw Mackenzie waddling down the stairs, holding a stuffed duck.
"Mackie!!" Zac yelled. Mackenzie squealed when he saw Zac dressed as "Sock-Man". "Never fear Mac!" Zac yelled as he picked up Mackie. "For Sock-Man is here!!"
Zac placed Mackenzie down and ran around the room. Mac laughed and clapped his hands, chanting "Sock-Man!" over and over again.
"Hey Zac!" Isaac yelled. "Will you calm down?" Zac stopped running around and looked at Ike. He reluctantly walked back to the laundry to get the socks off.
"Jeez," Donna said. "How much sugar did he eat today?"
"Oh only a few bowls," Taylor said standing up and walking over to Mackenzie. He leaned down and picked the little boy up.
"Mackie aren't you supposed to be napping?" he asked. Mackie smiled and shook his head.
"I want a drink," he said.
"Okay," Taylor said. "Let's go get you a drink. Donna, you want to come?" Donna stood up.
"Sure," she said walking over to Taylor. "I have to go home soon anyway."
Taylor and Donna climbed the stairs to the first floor.
"Why do you have to leave?" Taylor asked.
"Well, dad's leaving tonight, and mom wants me to be home to say good-bye to him."
"Oh," Taylor said as he poured Mackenzie a glass of water. "I'm sorry about your parents, you know."
"Oh it's not your fault Tay," Donna said. "It won't be that bad. I'll get used to it."
"Yeah, I guess so," Taylor said. "You ready to get back to sleep Mac?" Taylor asked once Mackenzie had finished his water. Mackenzie nodded and walked over to Donna.
"Carry me please," he said, reaching towards her.
"Sure Mackie," Donna said with a smile, as she reached down and picked him up. Taylor followed Donna up to Mackenzie's room. "Where are the other kids?" Donna asked when she put Mac down in his bed.
"They went with mom and dad to the park," Taylor said, as they walked out the door.
"Night-night Tay!" Mackie called from the bedroom.
"Night Mackie!" Taylor called back. Taylor and Donna walked down the stairs together.
"Well," Donna said when they arrived at the front door. "I guess I better go."
"All right," Taylor said. "I'll call you later." He kissed her on the cheek. Donna pulled him into a hug, and kissed him on his cheek.
"Bye," she said as she walked out the door.
