"Jess!" Donna shrieked. "It's WRINKLED!"
It was the night of the Grammy's and everyone was getting ready to go. Jess ran out of the bathroom, curlers in her thick brown hair. She looked at Donna's dress.
"It is not!" she exclaimed. "It looks fine! Just put it on. I want to see how it looks!"
Donna quickly put the black, sleeveless velvet dress on and zipped it up. She examined herself in the mirror. It was Donna's favorite dress. It fit her perfectly, hugging every curve and ending almost to the floor. She put on a pair of strappy black heels and clasped a slender silver necklace around her neck. She spritzed on some CKbe, brushed her hair until it shone, and applied some lip gloss.
"Wow!" Jess exclaimed. "Girl you look GREAT!" Donna laughed.
"You don't look so bad yourself!" Donna said. Jess was wearing a sleeveless black satin dress and basic black heels. Her hair was wavy, and hung down her back. "You look really good Jess," Donna said.
"Ahem," Kelly said. "How do I look?"
Donna and Jess turned to Kelly. She was wearing a long dark blue skirt with a flower print, and a tight blue shirt.
"You look hot," Jess commented. Donna punched Jess's shoulder lightly.
"You look really good Kelly," Donna said, glancing at Jess. "Zac has good taste."
"What do I have?" Zac asked from the other side of the door that joined the two rooms. Donna walked over to the door and opened it. Zac was standing there, his blonde hair tied back, clad in a basic black suit and tie. Donna couldn't help but giggle. Jess joined in.
"What?" Zac asked. "Is my suit on backwards?" Donna shook her head.
"I'm...just not used to seeing you all dressed up like this," she said with a smile.
"Well enjoy it," Zac said, walking over to Kelly. "Because I am NEVER wearing this...this THING again!"
"Why?" Kelly asked. "I think you look good." Zac grinned.
"Thanks," he said. "So do you."
"Come on Donna," Jess said, grabbing Donna's hand. "Let's go find our guys."
Donna and Jess entered the guy's room. Taylor was standing in front of the mirror, combing his hair. Donna walked over to him and put her arms around his waist. Taylor was wearing a suit almost identical to Zac's.
"You look great Tay," Donna said, looking at him in the mirror.
"Thanks," Taylor said smiling. He turned around and held Donna out arms length. "Wow," was all he said. Donna spun around and smiled.
"Do you like what you see?" she asked. Taylor nodded.
"You look...beautiful," he said. Donna hugged him and gave him a kiss on the lips.
"Thank you," she said. She turned around and saw Jess standing with Isaac, who was also wearing a suit.
"Looking good Ike," she said with a smile. He smiled back.
"You look great Donna," he said.
"Thanks," Donna said. There was a knock at the door.
"Come in!" Isaac called. Walker opened the door and stuck his head in the room.
"You guys ready? The limo is here," he said.
"We just have to get our coats," Donna said running back into her room.
She grabbed her black coat off the bed and put it on. She grabbed her bag off the back of a chair and slung it over her shoulder. Jess and Kelly also put on their coats, and Jess grabbed her bag as well.
"Do I need a bag?" Kelly asked. Donna shook her head.
"All I have in mine is a compact, lip gloss, some money, a comb and some mints," she said.
"That's basically what I have in mine too," Jess said. "If you need anything, you can borrow from us."
"Come on girls," Isaac said, sticking his head into the room. "We have to go."
"Coming," Jess said. She, Donna, and Kelly re-entered the room, closing the adjoining door behind them.
"Let's go!" Taylor exclaimed. Isaac walked over to Jess, Taylor walked over to Donna, and Zac over to Kelly. In unison, they held out their arms. The girls laughed and took their arms.
"So we're in a limo?" Jess asked as the three couples walked down the hall. Isaac nodded.
"No parents either. Just us," he said.
"Where will the rest of your family be?" Donna asked.
"In the audience," Zac said.
"Wait!" Diana said, running down the hall holding a camera. "I want pictures!" She stood in front of the group and held up the camera. Taylor put his arm around Donna's waist, and she put her arm over his.
"Smile!" Diana exclaimed. Donna grinned as the flash went off. "One more!" Diana said.
"Mom!" Zac exclaimed. "We have to go!"
"Smile!" Diana said, as she took another picture. "Okay go! Good luck!"
"Bye mom!" Taylor said, as the group entered the elevator. They rode to the first floor, and exited the hotel. A fairly large group of screaming girls greeted them.
"Whoa," Donna murmured.
"Wait till we get to the theatre," Taylor said, smiling and waving to the fans as they approached the black stretch limo. Isaac and Jess stepped in, then Zac and Kelly. Donna hiked up her dress and stepped into the limo. Taylor followed, closing the door behind him.
"Well I'm impressed," Jess said, running her hand over the plush seats.
"Very cool," Zac said.
"It's a lot better than the van we took to the MTV Awards Show, that's for sure," Taylor said.
"Now, do we just walk right in, or are we going to have to pose for pictures and answer questions?" Donna asked.
"We won't be able to go right in," Isaac exclaimed. "We'll probably be interviewed and photographed."
"Should we step aside?" Kelly asked.
"Of course not!" Taylor exclaimed. "You'll be right up there with us!" Donna nodded and took a deep breath. "You nervous?" Taylor asked her smiling.
"I would have thought you would be more nervous than me," Donna said. "But you seem completely calm."
"Oh I'm nervous too," Taylor said. A window towards the front of the limo rolled down, and the limo driver looked back.
"We're here sirs," he said.
"Thank you," Isaac said.
"Do we just get out?" Zac asked. Taylor shrugged.
"I guess," he said, opening the limo door. "Here we go," he said, as he got out of the limo. A loud scream arose from the crowd. Taylor reached his hand back into the limo, and pulled Donna out. She blinked as camera flashes went off everywhere.
"Come on guys!" Taylor said. Isaac, Jess, Zac, and Kelly also got out, and the limo pulled away.
"HANSON!" someone screamed.
Taylor, Isaac and Zac waved and signed autographs as they slowly walked past their fans. After they had gotten closer to the theatre, adults began to walk up to the group and interview them briefly. One woman in particular walked over to Taylor and Donna and shook Taylor's hand.
"Hello," she said. "My name is Jenna Wilkins, and I am from People Magazine. Would you mind if I interviewed you?"
"Not at all," Taylor said.
"Are you and your brothers excited about tonight?" Jenna asked, poised to write on a small notepad.
"Absolutely," Taylor said grinning. "It's a great honor to be nominated for such an award as a Grammy. We are extremely happy."
"And do you think you have a chance of winning the award you are up for, Best New Artist?" Jenna asked.
"Well, it's hard to say," Taylor said. "We're up against some tough competition. But we're crossing our fingers."
"And who is this young lady?" she asked, motioning to Donna.
"This is my girlfriend, Donna," Taylor said, taking Donna's hand and smiling at her.
"May I ask you some questions about your relationship?" Jenna asked with a smile. Taylor looked at Donna, and she shrugged.
"Sure," Donna said.
"Okay," Jenna said. "Just how serious is this relationship? How long have you two been together?"
"Well, we just met this past summer, when Donna moved in next door. We've been together for a few months," Taylor said.
"And where did you move from Donna?" Jenna asked, writing furiously.
"New Jersey," Donna replied.
"Taylor, aren't you worried about what all your female fans will think of this relationship?"
"Not really," Taylor admitted. "If they are true fans, then I believe they won't let this bother them. But I'm not going to break up with Donna just because my fans don't like the fact that I have a girlfriend."
"Okay..." Jenna said. "And Donna. What is it like being the envy of every teenage girl in the world? Dating THE Taylor Hanson must be pretty exciting, right?" Donna nodded.
"I don't really see him as being a famous musician though," she explained. "I just see him as a normal guy. But I have a lot of fun when I'm with him. We've been through a lot together, and we're extremely close." She looked up at Taylor and smiled.
"Thank you," Jenna said, as she walked away.
"That wasn't so bad," Donna said, as she and Taylor approached Isaac, Jess, Zac and Kelly, who were being photographed.
"Taylor get into the picture!" someone shouted. Taylor and Donna moved closer to the rest of the group and smiled for the cameras.
"Now just some of the three couples alone!" someone else said.
"Taylor come here!" a woman shouted. Taylor pulled Donna towards him and stood with her, his arm around her waist, as photographers took pictures of them.
