The rest of the summer went by quickly for Donna. She saw they guys pretty often, but they had been doing a lot of gigs, so she hadn't seen them for about a week. School would be starting soon for Donna, and she was looking forward to it. She and Jess had gone to the mall the other day to get new clothes and school supplies. Donna was home alone as usual, and was watching t.v. in her bedroom. Suddenly, her phone rang. Donna got up and answered.
"Hi Donna," the person on the other line said.
"Tay?" Donna asked. "When did you get back?"
"Just a little while ago," he answered. "How was L.A.?" Donna asked as she sat on her bed.
"Cool. We had a lot of fun."
"So, what's up?" Donna asked.
"Well we were wondering something. We have another local gig tonight, at a mall across town, and my brothers and I were wondering if you would like to perform with us."
"Really? That would be awesome!" Donna exclaimed as she stood up. "What do you want me to do?"
"Just play the keyboard and sing backup. Think you can handle it? Of course if you said yes we would practice first," Tay said. "So what do you say?"
"Sounds great! Should I come over now?"
"Yeah, come on over. We'll be in the basement."
"Okay bye," Donna said as she hung up the phone. She ran downstairs and grabbed her key. She shut the front door and ran over to the Hanson's. She opened the front door of their house and let herself in. She ran down the stairs to the basement.
"Hey guys!" she said.
"Hi Donna," they all answered. "So what should I do?" she asked. Tay walked over to her and handed her some sheet music.
"Here's the music and words," he said. You can use my other keyboard. And don't worry if you mess up. We have plenty of practice time."
"Okay," Donna said as she walked over to the keyboard. "Is the music in playing order?" she asked as she leafed through the pages.
"Yeah," Ike said as he tuned his guitar. "We're starting with "MMMBop". Tay sings lead, and the rest of us will sing backup, okay?" Donna nodded and examined the music for "MMMBop".
"You ready?" Tay asked.
"I think so," Donna said. "I can't make any promises though."
"Just try your best," Ike said. "Zac are you ready?" No answer.
"Zac?" Ike said as he turned around. "Now where did Zac go?"
"I'll go find him," Tay said as he went upstairs. A few seconds later he came back, with Zac following him.
"Seems Zac needed a Jello break," Tay said. Zac smiled at Donna with green teeth.
"Hi Donna!!" he said.
"Hey Zac," Donna said. Zac walked over to his drums and sat down.
"Now I think we're ready," Ike said.
"1, 2, 3!!" Zac yelled as he banged his drumsticks together.
About 2 hours later, Donna had pretty much mastered the songs.
"That was really good Donna," Ike said as he placed his guitar on the floor. "I’d say you’re ready."
"Cool," Donna said as she stepped away from the keyboard. "So what time should I come over?"
"Around 7:00," Taylor said.
"All right. I'll see you all later," Donna said as she climbed the stairs.
"I Love you Man!!!!!" she heard Zac yell. Donna smiled to herself as she left the house and walked back over to her house.
