"Zac please turn off the t.v.," Taylor said from his bed.
"As soon as this show is over," Zac said.
He was engrossed in an episode of Beavis and Butthead. Ike had fallen asleep a long time ago. Taylor sighed and lay back. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was almost 11:00. Finally a few minutes later, Zac turned off the t.v. and lay on his sleeping bag on the floor.
"Night Tay," he said sleepily.
"Goodnight Zac," Taylor replied. Tay tried to get to sleep, but did not succeed. He reached over and turned on the lamp. Both Zac and Ike were sound asleep. Taylor got out of bed as quietly as he could and walked over to his Jansport bookbag. He reached in and pulled out a pen and his journal. He got back into bed and began to write.
"Dear Journal, It's me, Taylor. I have a problem. I really like Donna a lot, but I don't know how to tell her. I'm afraid she'll laugh at me or something. I want to ask her to be my girlfriend, but I don't want to ruin our friendship. I really like her though and I want to be more then friends. I guess I'll ask her about it some other time. Later."
Taylor closed his journal and put it back in his bookbag. He got back into bed and closed his eyes. He fell asleep a few minutes later. The next thing he knew, someone was calling his name. He thought it was part of his dream, so he ignored it.
"Taylor wake up!" Donna said. "We have to leave soon." Taylor opened his eyes and saw a pair of pale green eyes looking at him.
"Good morning Sleepy Beauty," Donna teased. "Come on ; get up. We have to leave in a few minutes. Taylor sat up and blinked a few times.
"How much time do I have?" he asked. Donna glanced at the clock on the nightstand.
"About 20 minutes," she said. "I have to go get ready. When I get back, you better be ready to go." Donna walked over to the door and looked at Taylor.
"Okay?" she asked. Taylor stood up and saluted her.
"Yes Sir!"
Donna rolled her eyes and closed the door. Taylor took a quick shower and got dressed. He pulled his hair into a ponytail and put on his necklaces. He heard the door open. He stepped out of the bathroom and looked around. No one was there.
"BOO!" someone yelled from behind Taylor. Tay jumped and turned around.
"Zac! You almost gave a heart attack!" he exclaimed when he saw his younger brother behind him. Zac laughed and ran past Taylor. He picked his suitcase up off the floor.
"C'mon Tay. We're all waiting for you," he said as he walked towards the door.
"Is Donna out there?" Taylor asked. Zac grinned slyly.
"Why do you want to know?" he asked. "You wouldn't happen to LIKE her, would you?" Taylor blushed and shoved Zac away.
"Get real Zac," he said. Taylor grabbed his suitcase and bookbag, and followed Zac out the door. Sure enough, everyone was standing in the hallway, holding their suitcases.
"Okay is everyone here?" Diana Hanson asked as she counted heads. "9, 10, 11. Okay good. We're all here. Let's go."
The group went down to the lobby and checked out. They piled into the van and were on their way to the airport. Taylor, who was sitting between Zac and Donna looked at Donna. She was listening to her Discman, her eyes closed. She was wearing a army print tank top over baggy blue jeans. Her hair was down and wavy. She opened her eyes suddenly and saw Taylor looking at her. Taylor blushed and looked away.
