Chapter 35 of "Some Changes Are Good"

A few hours later, Ike, Tay, and Zac were in their room, just hanging out. It was after 10:00. Ike and Zac were watching t.v., and Taylor was laying on his bed, reading a book. He put the book down and yawned. He wanted to go to sleep, but he couldn't stop thinking about what had happened before.

“Why did Donna have to leave?” he asked himself. Taylor shrugged. "What's the difference? She probably went off to see Josh or whatever his name is." Isaac turned off the t.v.

"Hey Ike!" Zac said. "I was watching that!"

"Tough luck little bro," Ike said as he climbed up to his bed. "It's time to go to bed. Night Tay."

"Night," Taylor mumbled. He rolled over and glanced out the window. Donna's bedroom light was on, and Taylor could see her sitting on her bed, crying.

Taylor watched as Donna turned slightly and wiped away her tears. Taylor gasped when he saw her face. She had a large bruise next to her eye. He saw her stand up suddenly and start yelling. Tay saw Josh standing next to the door, yelling. Donna pushed Josh out the door and slammed it shut. She locked the door and turned off her light. Taylor opened the window a crack and realized she was still yelling at Josh through the door.

"Josh forget it!" he heard her yell. "It's over! Just go away!"

"God damn it Donna!" Josh yelled. "What is your problem? I didn't mean to hit you! It's just that I don't want you hanging out with that guy next door!" "You can't tell me who I can and cant hang out with!" Donna screamed. "Go away! I don't want to ever see you again!" Taylor saw Josh come out of Donna's house and glance up at Taylor's window. Taylor ducked.

After a few minutes he looked out the window again, and saw Josh was gone. He looked into Donna's window, and saw that she was sitting on her bed again. Tay quietly got out of bed and got dressed. He slipped out of the room and went downstairs. He opened the front door as quietly as possible and went outside. He walked over to where Donna's window was, and picked up a small pebble. He tossed it up towards Donna's window. Suddenly, Donna appeared at the window.

"Taylor?" she whispered. "What are you doing here?"

"Well, are you busy?" Taylor asked. "Because I was wondering if you’d like to go for a walk." Donna smiled and nodded.

"Okay. I'll be right down," she said as she disappeared from the window.
