When they arrived, Isaac, Taylor and Zac immediately began showing off their rollerblading skills. Donna and Jess watched them do various turns and other tricks. Taylor bladed over to them.
"Aren't you going to blade?" he asked. Donna shook her head.
"Iím fine right here," she said.
"You guys go on," Jess added. "We'll watch you." Taylor shrugged and bladed away. Donna and Jess sat on the ground. Donna was looking around nervously.
"What's wrong Donna?" Jess asked.
"Oh nothing," Donna said. "I just hope Josh doesn't show up."
"I don't think he will Donna," Jess said. "Quit worrying about him so much. Besides, if he does show up, there would be one of him, and 5 of us."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Donna said.
"Of course I'm right," Jess said standing up. "I'm going to rollerblade. You coming?" Donna shook her head.
"I'll stay here," she said.
"Okay. Suit yourself," Jess said as she bladed towards where the guys were.
Donna leaned back and rested on her elbows. She watched Ike, Tay, Zac, and Jess rollerblade for a while. Taylor bladed over to her and took her hand.
"Come on Donna," he said pulling her up. "Live a little." Donna smiled and gave in.
"All right. I'll blade for a while." She and Taylor rollerbladed around the parking lot. Donna was having fun, until something caught her eye.
"Uh oh," she said as she stopped rollerblading.
"What is it?" Taylor asked. Donna pointed to the entrance to the school parking lot. Josh and 5 other guys were walking towards them.
"Josh what are you doing here?" Donna asked as Josh walked up to her and Taylor.
"Hey it's a free world," Josh said. "Besides this gives you another chance to re consider your decision, about us of course."
"She's already made her decision. So why don't you leave her alone Josh?" Taylor said. "Keep out of this," Josh snarled. "Before I pound you. Or.." Josh turned to his friends. "We could pound you now and get it over with."
"Josh. For the last time. Leave me and my friends alone," Donna said as she took Taylor's hand.
"Come on Tay," she said pulling him away.
"You can't hide behind your girlfriend forever!" Josh yelled to them.
"Sorry about that Taylor," Donna said apologetically. Taylor shrugged.
"It's not your fault," he said. Donna shook her head.
"I still wonder what I ever saw in that jerk," she said.
They bladed up to where the rest of their group was. Ike, Jess, and Zac were so engrossed in a conversation, that they hadn't noticed what had happened.
"Hey guys," Taylor said. "You ready to go?"
"Sure Tay," Jess said as they stood up.
The group began to rollerblade home. When they got back, they all sat in Donna's driveway and talked for a while. After about an hour, Jess announced that she had to go home. Donna hung around a few minutes longer.
"So, when are you guys leaving?" she asked.
"Day after tomorrow," Isaac replied.
"Oh. And you're only going to be gone a week?" Taylor nodded.
"Donna!" Donna heard her mother call.
"What?" she yelled.
"Dinner time!" Donna stood up.
"I'll see you guys later," she said as she walked over to her house.
