Isaac pulled into the hospital parking lot about 20 minutes later. Donna and Isaac walked into the hospital together. Donna followed him into the waiting room , where Walker was waiting. She and Walker exchanged sullen hellos, and he motioned for Donna to sit down. Donna sat in one of the plastic chairs, and Ike sat beside her. Walker sat across from them. Donna leaned forward and put her head in her hands. Walker proceeded to explain to her what had happened, and how Taylor was doing.
"Would you like to see him?" he asked softly. Donna nodded her head and got up. Isaac gave her an encouraging smile as she followed Walker out of the waiting room. Donna walked down the long corridor with him into the Trauma section of the hospital. Walker pushed open one of the doors, and went inside the room. Donna followed him into the dim hospital room. She let out a little gasp when she say Taylor laying on the hospital bed. He was surrounded by beeping machines, and there were many needles stuck in his arm. Walker put his hands on Donna's shoulders and led her over to the bed. Donna sat down on the armchair next to the bed.
"I'll be right down the hall," Walker said as he exited the room. Donna nodded and turned to Taylor. His eyes were closed, and he was breathing lightly. Donna took a deep breath and tried not to burst into tears. She reached over and put her hand on top of Taylor's. She had heard from someone that even if a person is in a coma, they still might be able to hear. So Donna began to talk to Taylor as though he was awake.
"Hey Tay," she said softly. "It's me, Donna. I really missed you, and when I found out what had happened, I came right out here to be with you. I know you will pull though and be okay. You have to. You can't die. There are so many people that love and need you." Donna felt the tears rolling down her cheeks. She sat and cried, until someone knocked on the door. She wiped her eyes and sniffed.
"Come in," she said quietly. The door opened, and Isaac stepped into the room.
"Donna, are you okay?" he asked as he walked over to her. Donna stood up and shook her head.
"Isaac, what if he dies? Then what?" she asked tearfully. Isaac pulled her into a hug and stroked her hair.
"Don't say that Donna. He will be okay. But you have to believe it," he said in a soothing voice. Donna pulled away and looked over at Taylor.
"You're right," she said as she walked over to the bed. "He'll be alright ; he'll pull through," she said as she bent over and kissed Taylor on the cheek.
"It's time to go," Isaac said. "Back to the hotel."
"But who will stay with Tay?" Donna asked.
"My mom and Dad are taking turns," Ike said as he took her hand. "Come on. We can come back tomorrow." Donna and Isaac walked out of the room and down the hall to the waiting room. "We're going back to the hotel dad," Isaac said. Walker nodded. "What time do you want me to tell mom to come?" Isaac asked. Walker glanced at the clock on the wall.
"Tell her to please come now. I really would like to talk to her," Walker said. Ike nodded.
"I'll let her know. See you later dad."
"Goodbye Mr.Hanson," Donna said.
"Bye Donna," Walker said as Donna and Isaac left the room. They walked through the parking lot over to Isaac's truck. They got in and Ike started the engine and began driving towards the hotel they were staying at. Donna leaned against the window and watched as it began to drizzle. She let a few stray tears roll down her cheeks as she stared blankly out the window.
